OML is a 100% Kenyan-owned company, fully committed to advancing local content capacity through the employment and empowerment of both host community members and Kenyan nationals. As part of our commitment to sustainable development, OML has made significant investments in training and upskilling local talent to align their competencies with the rigorous standards of the Oil & Gas and Renewable Energy sectors.
We have played a transformative role in workforce development across our areas of operation, including:
Skills training for Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) drivers
Capacity building for logistical support personnel
Human Resources development
Light vehicle driver training
Training of lifting crews and rigging personnel.
These initiatives have included investment in internationally accredited training programs and comprehensive competence assurance assessments.
OML also supports the local economy by procuring goods and services from in-country suppliers and businesses within host communities. This strengthens relationships with local enterprises, enhances economic inclusion, and promotes mutually beneficial partnerships.
On a pilot basis, OML has facilitated equipment ownership for Kenyan nationals, particularly trucks used in upstream oil and gas projects. Through provision of letters of intent, OML assists them in accessing financing, while also managing the equipment to ensure technical and contractual compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
